If only..............

If only we could wear glitter on our toes every day..........

and fly to the stars just once in our life........

Oh but we can - dust glitter on our feet before we put our shoes on and visit the stars in so many ways. Read all we can about them, dream about them and even have a star named after you.

All things are possible and until the time is right just use that wonderful instrument we all have that can take you there - Imagination.

Have fun, dream, laugh, love and above all never forget to play.

Dip your toes into glitter, dance under the stars and enjoy all that life has to offer.

Joy

Such a lovely word isn't it - J O Y - a vivid emotion of pleasure.

Making up little stories gives me great joy and I would like to share this one with you.

Ivy and Pearl needed to dry all the dolls clothes but it was raining so Ted came up with a rather good idea (or so he thought, the girls weren't quite so sure). Why not hang everything off the candelabra?

Hmmmm, it was rather tricky reaching the candles to sling the line between them so this is where I came in useful.

The dolls managed the rest by themselves. Ted wasn't much help here, being rather challenged in the height department. Ahem, he doesn't like to talk about it so I won't dwell on this particular subject.

Ivy felt that she had done more than her fair share of pegging out.

Pearl on the other hand secretly thought that hers looked much neater hanging from the leaves and roses in such an attractive way.

Personally, I can't see any difference whatsoever!

I collect vintage costume jewellery and this is one of my favourite necklaces.

The clasp is so pretty - I love all the detail and the tiny diamantes.

Fairy Shoes ?

These teeny shoes are just 1.5 inches long!!!

I imagine that they must belong to a fairy who left them behind after a delightful fairy ball. She went home happy but very tired and forgot her sweet little shoes. I think I will put an advertisment in the lost and found column of 'The Fairy Times'.

Who knows, I may get a glimpse of the owner ~ now that would be a dream come true.

Enjoy life, don't forget to play and above all keep on following your dreams.

Teddy Bears Picnic ~

It was a beautiful, sunny day and the teddy bears wanted a picnic, but alas, at the very last moment the rain came down.....

So the Pink Fairy waved her magic wand and laid out a lovely spread for them to enjoy indoors.

Miss Teddy put on her new dress.

Mr Teddy picked a red rose to give to his sweetheart.

And they enjoyed a wonderful picnic tea. Afterwards, they wandered home paw in paw to their fairytale house in the woods.

A just messing around kind of day

A jug full of nonsense but I like my stuff ~ the more the merrier. It was raining this morning, such is our summer weather, so I needed something to occupy me until I went out to a village flower festival.

So I gave Miffy a new tiara and she wondered if her ears looked big in it. I said nooooo, your ears are just perfect.

The dolls are all dressed up and ready for an outing too ~ hope they have their umbrellas waiting by the door.

After a very, very showery afternoon which I spent wandering around a village looking at glorious flowers I came back home and of course, the sun came out!!! So off I went into my own garden to admire the Evening Primroses and the huge Foxgloves.

My beautiful Mr Dante loves this part of the garden. He likes to chew grass and disappear into the undergrowth. Watch out, sweet boy, the bees love the flowers too, mind you don't get stung on the nose

Playtime ~

A break for refreshment is always welcome. Please help yourselves. I think teddy would like a slice of cake and a small glass of cherry brandy. I wonder what bunny will choose?

It's good to play - to escape from the humdrum of life now and then.

Fairy Strawberries

I picked lots of these from the garden - tiny miniature strawberries.

Endless patience is needed to pick enough to enjoy with a dollop of fresh cream but they are worth the effort. Of course I left plenty for the little folk. To show how small they are the bucket is from my dollshouse!!!!!

Meet Rosebud

Nestling among the soft rose petals. Holding her wand, ready to grant wishes for happiness.

This is a beautiful 'David Austin' rose. We are fortunate to live very close to the David Austin rose nursery where we bought this several years ago.

Butterfly Dream

I found a butterfly on the floor and at first I thought it was a flower.

I felt sad that such a beautiful creature is so very short-lived. I wanted to preserve it in a magical wonderland.

I used lots of lovely old and natural things, reminiscent of natures fairies.

Fairy Door

Welcome Fairies...........

If you believe in fairies then a fairy door in your home is essential.
The fae folk will be eternally grateful if you do decide to install one of these very special doors, but please beware fairy mischief!!!!!

Fairy Wings Restored

After one too many flights, the fairy wings were looking rather worse for wear. In fact, they were a sorry sight indeed, broken in two and feathers falling off. This state of affairs could not continue, so I gave them some tlc. I think they look ready for anything now.

Pink, gold, glitter and flowers, what more could a fairy desire?

Mmm, maybe a Fairy Prince to take her to a Grand Ball.

A dashing knight on a beautiful white stallion to carry her off to Fairyland.

Or maybe she could just stay at home and flit around the house scattering fairy dust and good wishes.

Now that's a wonderful idea!!!!!!

And when she's finished around this house she could send some good wishes to everyone who reads this.Consider them sent.

A Childhood Treasure

Hello dear Friends,
I thought I may as well continue with the whimsical theme that has been occupying me more than usual recently. I think it must be the aftermath of Christmas plus this awful January weather that is really getting me down. Anyway, nothing wrong with a little escapism now and then as far as I am concerned. This little fella is a very elderly childhood friend. I can't remember how long ago I bought him but I do know he was bought on a family visit to the seaside. I made the sweet little crown for him following instructions from Sandra Evertson's gorgeous blog (post date 8th November, 07) for which I thank her for so generously sharing.

He might not be to everyones' taste but I love him to bits.

Fairy Mischief

 These two have been plotting mischief! They have raided my pearl collection and dressed up the mannequin.

I think they have done a pretty good job though.

And I'm not at all surprised that they wanted to add a little cheer to the day. It is so dark and gloomy here, raining again and very lowering to the spirits. I think we all need a little extra sparkle in our lives, especially at this time of the year.

I hope that you agree.

It's Playtime

 I was doing a little light tidying recently and found a box containing lots of little dollies. I thought that they deserved a bit of freedom, after all, they've been confined to their box for years.

How could I have neglected them so?

I used to collect 'costume dolls' as a child and kept them carefully displayed in a special cabinet. Sadly, they are now all in a suitcase up in the loft. I may get them down one day and display them once more.

I guess I have always been a magpie, collecting and hoarding all kinds of things. Once a collector, always a collector.
