Butterfly Dream

I found a butterfly on the floor and at first I thought it was a flower.

I felt sad that such a beautiful creature is so very short-lived. I wanted to preserve it in a magical wonderland.
I used lots of lovely old and natural things, reminiscent of natures fairies.

My Idea of Paradise

My garden and my very own Paradise. I love the lush, vibrant tangle of flowers, shrubs, herbs, fruit trees and more than the odd self - seeded visitor.

I will let the pics speak for themselves.

Someone else thinks it's Paradise too!
Until next time,

Miniature Creations

Some of the things I have made recently for my dollshouse.

Just made from bits and pieces from my craft boxes.
This was a plain blue bed which I bought many years ago.
I thought it was due for a revamp using lots of vintage lace.
I made this tiny bed from wire and wanted it to look like it belonged in a fairy tale.
Making small things is quite addictive and I think it is nicer than buying everything ready made.
I have been making tiny, snuggly blankets from very fine wool for when the weather turns chilly - which can happen anytime in our Country.
Until next time,

Bringing You Flowers!

It's good to be back and I feel refreshed from my blogging break. As always in this country the weather has been varied to say the least.
Since my last post we have had everything from this.....

to this.....
Storms and rainbows....
and skies so blue it makes you feel glad to be alive!!!!!!!
I haven't done as much in the garden as I would have liked but have captured some pics of lovely blooms. Since I have "been away" I have had a birthday, received a lovely new 'old' dolls house from my husband and son and been very busy creating lots of pretty things to furnish it with.
I also have my very own craft/play/work room since my daughter flew the nest. It is currently being spruced up ready for me to move all my stuff in to and I can't wait for that day to arrive.
Here then are some flowers I would like to share with you. We have masses of bluebells and they are very pretty.
Broom trees......
and a Camellia in a large pot.
A lot of daisies in the lawn, but I love them - we had a sweet tortie cat named Daisy May and she was a really wild moggy.
Mmmm...a few Dandelions have seeded themselves.
Forget-me-nots just spring up everywhere.
Weigela....
.....and Lilac. The smell from these is just divine.
Euphorbia.
More Weigela.
Aubretia.
Weigela buds.
Another self sown beauty - looks to me like Ladysmock which I believe is not so common now as it used to be.
Erm, not quite sure what this is but I thought it looked quite interesting.
As I'm sure you may have gathered, my garden is not tamed to within an inch of its life. Wild flowers are allowed and so is wildlife. We get lots of creatures visiting our little haven and birds nesting in the eaves. I wouldn't change it for the world.
I have missed visiting all my favourite blogs and look forward to catching up. I will post some pics soon of my creations and the progress of my very own room.
Until next time,
