In the garden..........

Purely recreational today taking some pics of pretty flowers.
This little cutie has been in the loft for years and I found her again yesterday whilst looking for something else (which I didn't find - typical).

Anyway I have discovered that it doesn't do to be too precious about the flowers when you share the garden with a fur baby. Huge paws rampage here and there without a care in the world.
I love the colour of these.
The cheer that these bring without fail each Spring.
Magnolia flowers and damson blossom.
Plus someone in the background inspecting the condition of the soil.
Mmmmm is it warm enough to plant out yet?
I don't think so.
Sweet and tiny Forget-me-not flowers.
These spread each year.

Hmmmm.........what have we here.
Ah yes, Columbine leaves sprouting through the undergrowth.
Thank goodness for flowers and a garden and a fur baby to keep me in check ;))

Spring Cleaning ~

Such a beautiful day......the sun shone down from the deepest blue sky.
The garden beckoned in all its new colours.

The Magnolia tree looks glorious and a visiting bee enjoys sipping the nectar.
Such a delicious colour. Now down to some chores that have been long overdue.
Spring cleaning commenced with my kitchen chairs.
Lots of soapy suds and in no time at all they were gleaming and shiny and dry.
I think I'll just sit down for a moment.
Listen to the bee buzzing and humming and just enjoying being alive.
It's so good to be outside once again.

*Tea and Cake*

Mmmmm - two of my most favourite things. Homebaked cake and a nice freshly brewed pot of tea.

Kept nice and hot with a kitsch tea cosy which I recently made. :)

Pink and white - perfect partners.

Pink flowers on white china, pink and white china on a white dresser.
Pink flower fairy lights and pink angel fairy lights.
Pink rose quartz.
Pink glass inkwell.
Every shade of pink.
Pink flowers on pink saucers.
I think I love pink :)

Vintage Top Hat

Tuesday, 3 March 2009

Hazel catkins gathered on Saturday during a pleasant walk with Dante. The weather was delightful, the sun shining and everything looking so new and fresh. The common name for these is Lambs Tails and it is easy to see why. Cutie cute, dangling from the hazel trees, waggling in the breeze. The spears of bluebells are emerging in the woods where we walk and we have masses in our garden too. Once established they spread and spread and make a lovely sight. To smell them in the enclosed dark space of the woodland is to be transported back to childhood. Such a nostalgic scent. Once picked of course they rapidly become a sorry sight, wilted and spoiled so it's best to enjoy them where they grow.

Speaking of nostalgia I recently found this photo of myself in a box in the loft. I took it out of the frame in order to make a copy for my daughter. I was around 24 years old here. Don't you just love the sweet frame with the teeny dolls pinned to the top.
I am determined to go through all our photo's this year and make some scrapbooks. When I last visited my mum and dad we also found her huge stash of family pics too and I want to get some of those copied. She has some really old family photo's of people long since past and I find them fascinating to look at.
It is really late now and I need to get some sleep so until next time.
Bye for now,
Sandi x
