Pink and Vintage

I collect vintage costume jewellery and this is one of my favourite necklaces.

The clasp is so pretty - I love all the detail and the tiny diamantes.
Carry on creating, collecting, living and loving - it is so much fun.
Until next time,
Sandra

Vintage Dollshouse Fun

This has been keeping me amused lately. A birthday gift from my husband and son with the original wallpaper which I think is so pretty. I have really enjoyed creating this miniature home. I wanted it to be really whimsical and innocent, almost like The Borrowers lived here or small folk left to their own imaginations. Creating things out of unwanted items. Getting up to all sorts of mischief. Creating lots of lovely mess along the way.

Come on in and browse around.
The upstairs landing area.
The bedroom.
The kitchen.
I have mixed the scales in this house to add to the surrealness of it. I think it works quite well.
Enjoy!

Fairy Shoes ?

These teeny shoes are just 1.5 inches long!!!

I imagine that they must belong to a fairy who left them behind after a delightful fairy ball. She went home happy but very tired and forgot her sweet little shoes. I think I will put an advertisment in the lost and found column of 'The Fairy Times'.
Who knows, I may get a glimpse of the owner ~ now that would be a dream come true.
Enjoy life, don't forget to play and above all keep on following your dreams.

Dollshouse Aquarium

I love making things for my dollshouses. This is something I made recently from a small plastic box, some sea shells, beads and paint.
I am building up quite a collection of things to put into the houses once they have been fully refurbished - a very time consuming task.
Amazing what a few things lying around the house can be used for.
Until next time,
Keep on creating and enjoy life!!!!!!!

~ Hello ~

Hello and welcome to my world.
This is my place to share some of my most favourite things in the world. Not just silk and roses, or velvet and lace. I love all things vintage, shabby and worn, there is nothing quite like the feel of fabric made soft from years of careful laundering, crisp linen table napkins, white embroidered pillow cases. I have bought masses over the years and when they finally become too worn for their original purpose they make great dusters!!!

I have always been creative, using whatever I happen to have in my boxes of delights.
Now, more than ever, with so much demand being placed on the earths dwindling resources I feel that finally, the way of life I have always adhered to is coming into its own. Thrift needn't be second best, in fact in my opinion, older things, no matter what they may be, can be of far superior quality than some of the stuff on offer today.

I haven't jumped on any trendy bandwagon either. I was buying vintage clothes, jewellery and things for my home more years ago than I care to remember.
I have been able to knit and sew from childhood and love anything hand crafted.
There is so much that is beautiful just waiting to be discovered and put to delightful use.

I collect vintage costume jewellery and particularly love pearl necklaces. The kind with huge gobstopper diamante clasps. I can never pass a charity shop without a quick mooch around. Who knows what treasures lie within?

I also have the time these days to visit the monthly auction which is held locally. Those boxes of odds and ends reveal no end of useful 'niceties'.

All it takes is imagination, time and effort to create something unique, but the rewards are so worthwhile.

Thank you for taking an interest and I look forward to many happy hours both creating and sharing with you.
Until next time,
Sandra

Teddy Bears Picnic ~

It was a beautiful, sunny day and the teddy bears wanted a picnic, but alas, at the very last moment the rain came down.....

So the Pink Fairy waved her magic wand and laid out a lovely spread for them to enjoy indoors.
Miss Teddy put on her new dress.
Mr Teddy picked a red rose to give to his sweetheart.
And they enjoyed a wonderful picnic tea. Afterwards, they wandered home paw in paw to their fairytale house in the woods.
