Playing

Today the rain has been lashing down so the only thing to do is play dress-ups.

My most favourite jewellery (and I love it all) has to be rings. I adore rings, all sorts of rings.
Neat and simple, costume bling, silver, plastic fun rings. As a young girl I wore a teeny silver signet ring until I outgrew it and my mum bought me a new one.
I think turquoise is such a cheerful, summery colour so in view of the darkness outside I chose these rings today.
I made the cuff for myself, painted my nails with glitter and demanded that my dear husband take lots of photos of the finished result :0))
Ahhh I feel much better now.
P.S.Don't forget to leave me a comment on the previous post for a chance to win a giveaway gift.
Bye for now,

Are your dolls feeling Sleepy?

If your dollshouse dolls are feeling sleepy then I think I may just have the answer to their dreams - and yours :0) Click on the pics for glorious detail!!!!!

Cuddly, snuggly little blankies for them to put on their tiny liliputian sized beds.
All lovingly hand knit by yours truly.
Oh yes and as an extra little touch of luxury how about a pretty cushion to throw onto the bed.
Wouldn't that look gorgeous on top of this intricately beaded throw.
What about a glittering dusky pink number to make lounging a pleasure.
An aqua satin number trimmed with creamy vintage lace.
A slightly larger cushion embellished with brightly coloured sequins and beads.
Ah bless her - she just couldn't resist snuggling under this pretty blanket trimmed all round with fine lace.
Look at this pretty miss emerging from her glamorous filmstar style bedroom..
...and this one proudly showing off her customised pink four poster complete with vintage bedcover and that delicious cushion I mentioned before.
All these little pretties (except the bed) are going into my very own shop which will be unveiled soon. As an incentive to browse the goodness which will be available including a lovely selection of vintage jewellery, small vanity items, lace and lots of whimsical little collectibles; I shall be hosting a giveaway right here.
If you are interested please leave me a comment during the next seven days (deadline next Tuesday 5th May) and I will select a winner.
The giveaway may be something vintage or a miniature creation.
My son has generously designed my web site and now I am working like crazy to get everything up and running. I am hugely excited as I have worked towards this goal for a long time.
Once again, don't forget to leave me a comment even if you have not done so before.
Until next time it's back to the camera for me.
Bye for now,
Sandi x

On the Shelf

A cheerful little line-up of characters.

I made the two peg doll fairies a while ago, Daphne the doll last week and Ted needed something warm to keep out the chills so I made him this little waistcoat yesterday.
I think they all look pretty happy together and very comfortable :0)

It's Bluebell Time ~

There are masses and masses of delicious bluebells in our garden.

The Bluebell Fairy wanders among them.
Mr Dante sniffs among them.
They look so pretty in the golden sunlight.
So does this and the vivid yellow flowers dazzle in their own right.
See how bright they are.
Mmmm - he's still sniffing the flowers.
She is now perched on a branch of the Lilac tree watching proceedings from up on high.
I wish I could send you the smell of these gorgeous flowers.
So does she.
This lady rests in the dappled sunshine sitting on a branch of Broom.
Just chillin' and enjoying the peace and solitude.
Oh dear - here he is yet again. Sniffing and investigating.
Ah, that's better. I was very tempted to sit among the flowers myself but other things beckoned from indoors.
It has been such a gorgeous day, a good to be alive sort of day, a Sun day in both senses of the word.
Wonderful.
I hope your Sunday has been special for you too.
Until next time,
Sandi x

Aqua Mood ~

After all the pinkaliciousness of the wedding last week I am now in the mood for some aqua - my second most favourite colour. I made this brooch last night and realised in the light of day that this reminds me of something from the ocean. All those swirls and pearls and even the mother of pearl button in the centre. My subconcious mind must have kicked in here as I was on auto pilot following a meal out with some friends earlier in the evening.

Today, continuing with the aqua theme I made some fairy cakes, dusted with glitter of course.
There are plenty more to go round if you would like to join me. Tea time at 3.00 pm every afternoon.
Mmmmm - I think I need to test one of these.
The teapot beckons.........
Bye for now,

Washing on the Line

The best kind of washing is the pretty kind. The delicate wisps of lacey goodness that only need a gentle swoosh in the suds and a warm, sunny day to dry them on the washing line.
The gauzy apron from my previous post and a gorgeous length of lace, both bought on Saturday and needing a little freshening up.

Not too much breeze to damage the fineness of an old silk handkerchief, a piece of handmade lace and a lovely old collar from some long gone dress.
Such beautiful old things need to be cherished and cared for.
I'm more than happy to do so.
I haven't been able to do many posts in the last year and have not visited any lovely blogs either.
I intend to put that right and if you do still visit me then a heartfelt thank you.
Until next time,
Enjoy your world,
Sandi x

My Birthday

It was my birthday on Saturday. I had a lovely, fun-filled day. My daughter took me out for the day and we visited lots of antique shops and a gorgeous vintage clothes shop where I bought some lacey things including this very long apron.
We had lunch at an Italian restaurant and came home to a delicious curry cooked by my husband. My son and new daughter in law dined with us and I really enjoyed my day.
A huge thank you and lots of hugs to my lovely family for making my day special.

A Wedding Celebration ~

On Tuesday 14th April,2009 I gained a daughter and grand daughter following the marriage of my son Daniel to Christina. It was a beautiful occasion.

A family group.....
All the pretty bridesmaids.
Myself, my sister Mandy and my niece Heather deep in conversation.
The gardens of the 17th century mill where the wedding took place are really romantic with lots of pretty spots to take photo's.
The air around the waterfall felt so cool and fresh.
It was good to catch up with family.
A truly delightful day filled with precious memories.
I am so happy for my new family and I know they are very happy together.
Congratulations and all our love and best wishes for the future.
