Fairy Cakes and Roses

From my kitchen - made yesterday.

In my garden today. The sun is actually shining for a change and the wind is lovely and fresh so I took the opportunity to go outside and photograph the roses.

So pretty!!!!

Old Dollshouse

I moved this set of drawers into my craftroom on Saturday and I thought it would be an ideal spot to put the dollshouse.
I was looking at another dollshouse a couple of weeks ago - almost bought it too. I'm brooding on whether I should have brought it home or not. Only things is I would need to find yet more space for it....but it was ever so small. Mmmmm...I think I could squeeze it on top of the linen basket. I'll do some more thinking about it.
Decisions,decisions.
Bye for now.

It's Sunday ~

Home sweet home.

It's grey and chilly outside but indoors we are cosy.....
...and comfortable. Surrounded by family and ahem shhhhh...whisper, (our dog) Mr Dante who considers himself human, of course. Expects and gets every creature comfort known to humankind and caninekind.
Follows me in and out of my craftroom where I installed this yesterday.
This hides my sewing machine and other stuff.
I made this a while ago and have started more in different pastel colours.
I like to have lots of small projects to keep me amused.
There is chicken cooking in the oven and it smells delicious.
I think it's time for tea.
Hope you are enjoying your Sunday.

A Rainstorm and a Glass of Wine

Today we took Dante for a walk in the lovely, warm sunshine.

Unfortunately on our way back the sky went black and the rain came lashing down.
Oh dear, we got well and truly soaked to the skin but by the time we arrived back home felt quite refreshed. A glass of wine helped us to recover from our unscheduled shower and rain water is said to be good for the hair!
Ah well, such is our English climate.
If we let inclement weather keep us from doing things then we would rarely step out of the door. Anyway, at least it gives us something to talk about.
The photo's are of a few things in my craftroom. I love the old crystals and lustres and am always on the lookout for more of them. They look so pretty hanging in the window. I'm mad about candles too - the more the better. The play tiaras were in the loft where I went rummaging around looking for some dollshouse stuff that I have mislaid. I found all lots of forgotten things but not the stuff I was looking for - typical!
Until next time,

Sweet Treats

The occasional extra scrumptious treat is good for the soul.

Not to mention extremely pleasurable to make and decorate.
These are some of the treats I have made this summer.
Oh yes, it's such a joy to eat these too!!!
I don't understand anyone that only considers food as a fuel.
I know how fortunate we are to have food in such plentiful supply and I never take it for granted. Such food as this is very much an occasional indulgence in my home but it is so much fun to make something so deliciously decadent.
Luckily for me all my family love their food so it is a reward in itself to cook for them.
I think I will go and put the kettle on and have a slice of the cake with the pink icing - I only made that yesterday afternoon so there's still plenty of it left.
Would you like a slice?
Come on over,

Into The Dollshouse

I'm having an Alice in Wonderland moment.

If I drink some of the magic potion I can shrink down and move into the dollshouse.
I could sit on one of these tiny chairs and read a book or watch the fish.
Go into the kitchen, cut myself a slice of bread and a chunk of cheese. Grab a piece of fruit and pour myself a mug of tea.
Go into the bedroom and lie down for a gentle snooze.
Wander into the bathroom and play with all the lovely sweet smelling things, dab on some talc and maybe sprinkle some fairy dust from that huge bottle. Light the candle and make a wish that I am back to full size.
Ohhh it's so good to play!!!!!
Follow your dreams and never, ever let them go.
Dreams and wishes do come true.
Bye for now,

This and That

Just a selection of things around the house.........

My craft table.
Shelves full of books and whimsy.
Tiny brass goblets.
A really battered lamp shade which I love.
Bathroom fittings for the dollshouse.
A cute little bolero which my mum knit for me when I was around four years old. It is so soft and made from 'bunny wool'.
Purple crystals.
Lavender bags.
A vintage doll.
Some books bought recently from a charity shop and a hand painted clothes brush.
Some bits and bobs from an incredible vintage clothes shop.
Sugar swizzle sticks on a pretty old plate decorated with Forget-Me-Nots.
An apron which I made recently.
Finally, a lovely old hatpin.
Until next time,
